Gbenga Olufemi is the Deputy Director in the Directorate of Advancement and Linkages (DAL). He is in charge of linkages, partnerships and institutional advancement.

Olufemi is a graduate of the Universities of Ibadan and Lagos. He is a communication arts specialist with varied editorial experiences in the media industry before joining the services of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) in September, 2007. At different periods in the university, he had served as Chief Editor, Course Material Development, in the Directorate of Instructional Resources Development (DIRD); Special Assistant (Media) to the Vice-Chancellor (in charge of the Vice-Chancellor’s correspondences, public communications, speeches and convocation addresses); and as the Representative of the Vice-Chancellor on special committees. Until April, 2021 when he moved to the new Directorate of Advancement and Linkages (DAL), he was the Head of Advancement Unit in the Directorate of Research Administration and Advancement (DRAA). Before coming to DRAA, he was a Deputy Director/Editor of NOUN News, a publication of the National Open University of Nigeria. Olufemi, a versatile editor with decades of editorial experience, is a member of the African Council for Communication Education (ACCE), European Association of Science Editors (EASE), Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SEP), American Copy Editors Society (ACES) and the African Council for Distance Education (ACDE).

The distinguished editor, who loves reading autobiographies/biographies of great persons, watching documentaries about the human condition in different societies across the world enjoys travelling, in particular, to African countries.
